YouTube service is blocked in China

A video that is on youtube showing police fatally beating a Tibetan protester is a fake concocted by supporters of the Dalai Lama, China said Tuesday the same day the video-sharing network YouTube said that service had been blocked in China.

China some times blocks YouTube to prevent access to videos that criticize or shine an unflattering light on its policies. Users in Beijing said they were unable to access the site late Tuesday.

The official News Agency of Xinhua , citing an unidentified official with China’s Tibetan regional government, reported on Tuesday that the video came from sources tied to the government-in-exile of the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, and was pieced together from different places.

The Xinhua report said the footage purported to show a person named Tendar being beaten to his death by police after a riot in Lhasa, the Tibet region’s capital, on March 14 last year. Xinhua said the person was not Tendar and the wounds shown were fake.

This affects me and my community because any one can post videos of someone when it is not true and they can get in trouble or the person can get hurt And we might end up without youtube and who does not go on toyoutube.

As China Roars, Pollution Reaches Deadly Extremes

China is becoming very dirty, because of soo much pollution! Some of the statistics are bound to be surprising. No country in history has emerged as a major industrial power without creating a legacy of environmental damage that can take decades and big dollops of public wealth to undo. China’s 560 million urban dwellers only 1 per cent breathe air that meets European Union air quality safety standards. In a week last year in Beijing people never saw either sun or blue sky. A kid had pneumonia four times in China, he has never had lung problems before or after. The main causes of the pollution are China’s  coal power plants for energy, a host of inefficient, polluting manufacturing processes, as well as an explosion of private cars. The price of China’s phenomenal economic success has been its citizen’s health. But the problem does not stop at China’s borders. Pollution from Chinas coal-fired power plants fall as acid rain on Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo. Much of the bad pollution over Los Angeles originates in China.

But just as the speed and scale of China’s rise as an economic power have no clear parallel in history, so its pollution problem has shattered all precedents. Environmental degradation is now so severe, with such stark domestic and international repercussions, that pollution poses not only a major long-term burden on the Chinese public but also an acute political challenge to the ruling Communist Party. And it is not clear that China can rein in its own economic juggernaut.

I think thats sucks that China has soo much pollution! People can get really sick like the kid who had pneumonia. And now its spreading in other places! people in the United States and around the world should stop littering. People should also stop polluting, because it has a great effect in their country and others too! We don’t want to get any pneumonia!!!!!!! We are so young!!!!!! Like me Im a Shrimp!!!!!!!! A Sign of Hope for China’s Economy

A closely watched index of manufacturing activity in China edged up in February, an early sign that the economy may have seen the worst of the downturn. The official purchasing managers’ index released by the Chinese authorities Wednesday rose to 49 in February, from 45.3 the previous month and continuing its improvement from a low of 38.8 in November. A reading below 50 indicates contraction, so the February outcome does not yet represent recovery. Millions of jobs have been lost in China as producers catering to the export market have been hit by evaporating demand from overseas. And the economy, which powered ahead at double-digit growth rates for half a decade before the financial crisis in the United States escalated into an economic slump, has slowed sharply; many economists believe China may see growth of only 5 or 6 percent this year, markedly below the 8 percent the government is projecting. Officials  said that China would spend more money on welfare to strengthen the country’s social safety, or security. They wanted Obama’s administration to provide assurances, that its investment would keep its value in the face of a financial, global, economic crisis. Wen Jiabao said he was worried about how China is dealing with the Treasury Bonds and other debt.  President Obama and his new government have discovered new ways to deal with their financial crisis.

This article was interesting because many countries now are suffering from terrible economic problems. Many people have lost homes, jobs, vehicles, and items, because the economy isn’t going well. I think this article affects me and my community because, we are already suffering from tough economic problems, and many other countries are suffering too. 3 killed in explosions on buses in China

In the southern Chinese city of Kunming killed at least three people and injured 13 in what appears to have been a coordinated terrorist attack. One explosion at 7:05 a.m. on a commuter bus was followed by another an hour later on a bus downtown. Chinese police have not yet given any explanation other than to say that the attacks that police call that were “sabotage,” according to the New China News Agency. There were unconfirmed reports in Chinese state media that there had been a third explosion. Passengers on the second bus told a local newspaper, Life Daily News, that they saw two men leave an unidentified object on board. “Later, two men got off the bus, then it exploded. One-third of the bus was seriously damaged. The fire wasn’t very big, but the smoke was dense and there were strong odors,” the newspaper reported. One person was killed in the second bus explosion, and two in the earlier one. One person was killed in the second bus explosion and two in the first.

This article affects me  becasue if I were the one of the bus I could of been the one who died or who was injured. I believe that those two men did start the explosion because it doesn’t make sinse, leaving the bus and then the explosion starts because maybe he wanted to kill everyone cause he was mad or a mean guy or sumthin’. That’s wierd. B^) :** kisses!!! TO YALL!!!!! HAHAHAHA LOL #:-O ROTFL!!! :-P

Beneath Booming Cities, China’s Future Is Drying Up

Hundreds of feet below ground, the primary water source for this provincial capital of more than two million people is steadily running dry. The underground water table is sinking about four feet a year. Municipal wells have already drained two-thirds of the local groundwater. City wells have already drained two-thirds of the local groundwater. For three decades, water has been needed in sustaining the loving economic growth that has made China a world power. Now China is overcoming, a wasteful style of economic growth, pushing the country toward a water crisis.

I think that’s sad and hard for the Chinese, because they are overcoming a water crisis! People, animals, and the environment need water to survive, so its probably difficult  for them because they don’t have enough money to buy a house and clothing to survivve!!! p.s> (don’t forget food its yummy and ummm…. AWESOME!!!!!!!)
