A gas explosion ripped through a coal mine in northern China killing 73 miners. China’s mines are the world’s most dangerous with more than 3,000 deaths a year in fires, floods and explosions. This inccident ocurred when 436 workerrs were in Tunlan Coal Mine in Gujiao. It was a pre-dawn blast. A girl was the cause of the problem and some are still investigating her. 73 workers died, 113 were hospitalized, and 65 miners were still stuck underground in the mine. The workers were suffering of carbon monoxide poisioning. Xinhua said 113 others were hospitalized, including 21 in critical condition. It did not say how many workers remained trapped in the shaft but earlier reports said at least 65 were still underground. The injured miners were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, Xinhua reported, citing doctors at a nearby hospital. Exposure to carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas, can lead to death.
This article affects me because it was sad that a girl was the cause of a big explosion killing so many people and made some people injured and suffering of carbon monoxide poisioning. Why are people even investigating her if they dont even know if it was really her. I mean dont they have brains or sumthin!?! GOSH!!!

Li Hong a woman sat inside a dingy little storefront that serves full-course dinners for a dollar. When she got her plate, her tray was filled with cabbage, carrots, potatoes, a chicken leg and rice, plus soup. A Western fast-food meal cost her three times much more that a dollar. , said the young woman, who works as a sales clerk. “Why should I go there?” she said. 78% of Chinese consumers were feeling some effect from the global financial crisis. With the global economic crisis already producing unrest in rural agriculture areas, Chinese authorities have taken emergency action in wheat-growing regions that are suffering from their worst drought in 50 years. The three northern provinces that account for more than half the country’s wheat production have seen winter rainfall levels as much as 80% lower than normal, the National Meteorological Center reported. President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao personally ordered the emergency efforts to deal with the drought, according to the official New China News Agency. State-run media news reported that the Finance Ministry had allocated nearly $13 billion for drought relief, most of which will fund direct grants to farmers.
I think it sucks for the chinese people, because nobody is doing anything for the drought. I mean just look at that lazy president he is not even doing anything either, hes just telling people to deal with it like if they were their slaves. OMG what presiden would say that to their fellow citizens!!! COME ON!!! Farmers need the water to farm and grow crops and if they dont grow crops, we won’t be able to survive and animals need to eat so they can survive too. I just with china would just soon get a new president!!! =( =)>-

Egypt use to have gas until the court banned the exportation of Egyptian natural gas to Israel. This happened in 2005, when the court ruled Monday to switch the natural gas that belonged to Egypt to Israel. This decision needed an exeptian of the problem they were having it needed to overturned an earlier verdict that found the executive branch needed approval of Parliament before it could provide Israel with 1.7-billion cubic meters of natural gas a year. The Egyptian-Israeli gas agreement came into the limelight after an independent newspaper alleged last year that Cairo was selling gas to Israel at cut-rate prices. The report resonated strongly with many Egyptians who still perceive Israel as an enemy despite the peace agreement signed with the Jewish state in the late 1970s. After the newspaper came out, the campaign wqas launched to end the exportation of gas to Israel. Then, they needed to pay all the taxes and all the money for their country.
This article affects me because I wouldn’t want the gas to be taken away from my own country just because someone wants it just to have plenty of it and then make a lot of money just to become rich. I mean don’t they have minds to tell them self that money doesn’t always have to mean to become rich!?! GOSH!!! =(
