Saudi Arabia: Mercy for a ‘witch’?

Human Rights Watch has asked King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to rescind the death penalty imposed on an illiterate woman convicted of witchcraft. A woman named Fawza Falih was accused of involvement in supernatural occurrences, including the sudden impotence of a man she is said to have bewitched, according to the human rights organization. Falih admitted to such powers under police interrogation, but retracted her confession, claiming it was made under duress. In 2006, an appeals court ruled that Falih could not be executed because she had recanted.

But a lower court, which is guided by the strict interpretation of Wahhabi Islam, reinstated the death penalty to protect the creed, souls and property of this country. What this means is that they had to kill the witch because people kept on sayind it was very dumb that other people mercied the witch just because she could fix anything like if they are having problems.

This article affects me because I would feel very sorry if I were to mercy that witch because that is very messed up and sounds dumb to do.

That was a very interesting article about a death penalty for a woman being convicted of witchcraft.Oh Jazmin this article was just like the one before. Because it didn’t sound like your own words because I looked at the actual article and it was the exactly the same again. Jazmin you have to learn to summarize the article in your own words.
